Road construction uses compressed air for pavement breakers, drilling, compaction, dust control and cleaning. Most of the work happens across a moving site, so mobile diesel-powered air is the standard solution.
Key applications
- Pneumatic pavement breakers and hammers
- Rock drilling and dowel drilling
- Compaction and asphalt cutting
- Dust suppression and cleaning
Sizing mobile air
Add the demand of all tools running at once and match the portable compressor flow and pressure. Breakers are intermittent but air-hungry, so a receiver on the compressor or a correctly sized machine prevents pressure collapse during peaks.
Selection notes
Choose towable diesel compressors with heavy-duty filtration for dusty sites. Confirm fuel consumption and emission compliance, and provide enough hose capacity so long runs do not starve the tools of pressure.
