Compressed air quality testing verifies that your system meets the ISO 8573-1 purity classes for particles, water and oil. Correct sampling is essential, because a poor sample point or method produces misleading results.
What to measure
- Solid particle count by size class
- Pressure dew point for water
- Oil content including vapour
- Optional microbial and odour checks
Sampling method
Take samples at the point of use, not only at the dryer outlet, and use clean sample lines and calibrated instruments. For particles and oil, use dedicated test kits or laboratory analysis, and allow the system to run in a stable condition before sampling.
Frequency
Test at commissioning, after system changes and at scheduled intervals for quality-critical applications such as food, pharmaceutical and electronics. Keep records and act on any class that falls outside the specification.
