Cosmetics manufacturing is a high-hygiene industry where compressed air can contact the product during mixing, filling and packaging. Moisture or oil in the air compromises product quality and can trigger contamination, so the air system is specified to the same standard as food production.
Air quality
Contact applications require ISO 8573-1 Class 0 oil-free air with drying and filtration. Control air for filling and labelling machines should also be dry to protect sensitive pneumatic components and maintain accurate dosing.
Key applications
- Mixing and homogenising vessel pressurisation
- Filling, capping and sealing lines
- Pneumatic conveying of powders and ingredients
- Packaging and palletising
- Cleanroom valve and actuator control
System design
Use oil-free compression with adsorption drying for low dew point, hygienic pipework, and point-of-use sterile filtration at product-contact stations. Design the network without dead legs, manage condensate, and provide redundancy for continuous filling lines.
