Bottled water production combines PET bottle blowing, rinsing, filling, capping and packaging, all of which use compressed air. Because the air contacts the container and the product, it must be hygienic and oil-free.
Key applications
- PET bottle blowing at 30–40 bar
- Bottle rinsing and purging
- Filling, capping and sealing
- Labelling and palletising
Air quality
Specify ISO 8573-1 Class 0 oil-free air for contact applications, with drying and filtration. The high-pressure blowing air and the low-pressure contact air both need clean treatment to protect bottle quality.
System design
Use a low-pressure oil-free compressor feeding a booster for blowing, with adsorption drying and point-of-use filtration at the filler. Provide redundancy so the continuous line never stops.
