Seafood processing uses compressed air for chilling, filleting, sorting, packing and cleaning, in a cold, wet environment where hygiene is critical. The air must be oil-free and dry.
Key applications
- Chilling and freezing controls
- Filleting and portioning machines
- Sorting and grading systems
- Packing, sealing and palletising
Air quality
Product-contact air must be ISO 8573-1 Class 0 oil-free, with drying to prevent moisture and ice formation in cold areas. Control air needs a low dew point for reliable valve operation.
System design
Use oil-free compression with adsorption drying and filtration, design for washdown with corrosion-resistant components, and provide redundancy for continuous processing and packing lines.
